This photo was taken at the garden of The Henry Ford Mansion in Dearborn Michigan.

Spring is here! So I was reflecting on how excited I am to be able to take photos of flowers and our buzzy little pollinator friends. This got me to start thinking about this photo I took during a day of photos with my friends at the Henry Ford Mansion.
We mostly just spent the day walking around the grounds of the mansion and seeing what kinds of photos we could get and what cool angles we could find of the buildings and the nature in the area. We found the garden and went to go take photos of the bright and colorful flowers. We got closer and saw some bees buzzing around so I put on my macro lens to try and really get some good up close shots of the bees. The bees couldn't care any less about us being there and just kept doing their job buzzing around from flower to flower collecting pollen and spreading it around.
It was a little tricky to get good photos due to how quickly the bees were zooming around, but I managed to get a few, this one being my favorite. I love how detailed the bee and its fuzz are as well as being able to see the detail on the individual flower petals and feeling like we're almost looking through a magnifying glass.
These photos are also what really made me realize how much I enjoyed taking photos of bees. The colors and the contrast they give to the flowers they land on makes for great photos and are a fun little snapshot of one of the more abundant processes in nature.
