This photo was taken along Going-To-The-Sun Road in Glacier National Park.

"This land was made for you and me" - Words from Woody Guthrie all the way back in the 1940s represent so much of what this country was supposed to be. We are supposed to be a safe haven for the troubled, a place where everyone is welcome and that knows diversity and working together is truly what makes us great.
Looking at this photo the other day truly made me stop and think about all of the people in this country that are scared of what the future may hold and if they will be kicked out or worse simply because of the color of their skin or where they come from or who they love.
If as a country we continue to use racism, homophobia, and straight up fascism to kick out or discriminate against anybody that isn't a straight white male then we are going to fall apart and fail as a country.
I was also thinking about how National Parks truly were/are one of America's greatest ideas. From when John Muir invited Teddy Roosevelt out to Yosemite, inspiring him to create National Parks to protect some of the most beautiful land in the world and preserve it for future generations to be able to enjoy, America was saying that public land and preserving nature were a core tenant of this country.
The Sell off of public land to the highest bidder that is being talked about by the president and rest of the republican party , and disregard for the fact that this land was stolen to begin with is something we should be ashamed of and a sign of the lack of care about anything other than lining their pockets.
The direction this country is heading at the governmental level is nothing other than a descent to fascism. The people have to keep resisting and working together to help each other out. If we give up then the soul of this country truly will be lost. We got this, if we stick together and show them that they won't win we will make it through.
